We are in the middle of a rapid expansion, adding to our stock of 1,100 homes through acquiring homes in Stoke and Newcastle-under-Lyme. We plan to acquire over 200 properties in the next five years and start building new homes too. We want to help our tenants into owner-occupation, wherever possible, and are trailblazing the new Rent To Buy scheme in the area.

About the roles:

Due to the success of several of our existing staff in moving into new and more senior roles, we are able to offer three new positions. The team are the first point of contact for tenants occupying our rented properties. We deal with a range of issues from letting properties, property maintenance, dealing with tenancy breaches, and of course helping our tenants to achieve their full potential through initiatives such as Coaching, and Rent to Buy.

You will be providing support to ensure the smooth running of the department as well as dealing directly with customers via signposting and providing general advice. You will also be supporting a number of corporate projects that will transform and improve the way we deliver services to our customers in the future, such as the implementation of our new interactive IT system. No two days are the same so you must enjoy working in a varied and busy environment.

Who we're looking for:

Meticulous and thorough in your approach, you will have excellent administration and planning skills and the energy and ambition to support the delivery of key corporate projects. You will be trained to be confident in helping and advising customers on all aspects of their tenancy including; repairs, maintenance, neighbour disputes and general housing needs. We value your input and would welcome any recommendations and suggestions to improve our service delivery.

The ideal candidates will be proactive and demonstrate a willingness and drive to pursue a career within the housing profession.  No previous housing experience is required; however, an understanding of social housing would be beneficial.  Candidates with transferrable skills such as a strong customer focus, ability to plan and prioritise, ability to take responsibility and ownership of their workload, an empathetic yet assertive manner and able to communicate clearly both in writing and face to face are encouraged to apply.

A driving licence and use of your own vehicle is advantageous for site visits however, candidates without will be considered.
