When you contact us we will take some brief details about you, who is going to be housed with you and ask for details of your current landlord (if you have one) so we can take up a reference. Your application date will be recorded on our Register of Interest.
We will then arrange a convenient time to visit you where you currently live to find out a bit more about you, your housing circumstances and complete an application form with you. At this visit we will take copies of some form of identity (such as passport, identity card or driving licence), two recent proofs of your current address, proof of your National Insurance Number and proof of your income (such as your wage slip). We will need similar information for everyone over 18 that is going to be housed with you.
At the end of this visit, we will then decide if you are eligible to be accepted onto our waiting list for a home. We may need you to visit our office to look at your income and expenditure to check that you will have enough money to pay the rent and be able to afford to run a home.
We offer any properties that become empty in date order of when a customer first contacts us for housing. We will text you when we have a property available for you, and give you opportunity to view the property before you decide whether you would like to accept it. You can reject up to 2 offers of accommodation from us, after which your application will be cancelled.
Once you have an accepted an offer, we will let you know when the property will be ready for you to move in, and ask you to come into the office to sign the tenancy agreement and get the keys. You can then move into your new home.
